Free Online Games make me Hungry!
Games have evolved through time and they have gone through several processes of change already. Every year there are thousands of newly discovered games, but in the end we realize that they are all just the same. They are just games that are played but these games could very well be a great influence in your human becoming.

Playing games, especially free online games, is not new to most people. It has been there for a long time and it has even been upgraded to become more and more advanced today. Playing games used to be very simple and fun, but today’s games are more complicated and they require a lot more thinking and analyzing compared to before. If these skills are needed in playing online games, it must mean therefore that in order to play online games, one must be skillful, intellectual, and with good critical thinking and decision making skills. If these characteristics are required for online gamers, then it must mean that not everybody will be able to play online games anytime. So, children are forced to learn and find ways to master tricks and techniques in these games. Strategic planning can also even be developed just by playing online games.

Who would have thought that what used to be just pure fun and entertainment can now be part of life’s rigid training? Games have always been a part of children’s lives but then today things are slightly different. Yes, we can still see games being played by children, but these games are not the usual house games that were there a decade ago. Today, online games are the most common games played by children and a lot of parents worry that their children might be distracted and eventually fail school just because of online gaming. Part of the responsibility of parents is actually to discipline their children to help them create self limitations. Without self limitations, one wouldn’t know when to stop. Even if resources are depleted, a person can always look for ways once he is determined to.

This issue now leads to another problem which is more on the psychiatric side. Somehow, scientists have found out that online gaming can be classified as process addiction wherein it will be very difficult to control the gamers because their brain has been so consumed with all of the things they have been playing. Addiction, when defined, can mean an uncontrollable compulsion to repeat a behavior. In this case, playing online games would be the behavior. Once a person or a child can no longer do anything else but play online games, you might as well check again and reassess whether they have been eating right, sleeping right, and acting right.

Addiction can sometimes lead to more complicated things like psychiatric problems and even physiologic problems like bad eyesight, malnutrition, and other diseases. Just like any other kind of addiction, online gaming process addiction should be intervened and therapy should be done to the children, and the parents as well. The child might not respond immediately because he has to be given time to accept that he has a problem. The initial reaction would most commonly be denial, which is a normal coping mechanism for most people. What’s important is, once a parent or guardian recognizes the need for intervention, an intervention should be done. Let’s not wait for it to become severe and more difficult to handle but instead, let us act upon it now.
